Used to produce cost-effective composite molds for the aerospace industry in a fraction of the time of traditional molds. Printed molds are primarily used to produce prototype or development molds, repair molds and masters, and use them to produce final production molds.
The technology has proven its value in these applications. To expand the range of applications for development tooling, the tooling manufacturing team at the Dassault Falcon Jet Technology Center applied high-quality FDM engineering plastics to demonstrate the feasibility of using the technology for production-grade tooling - from layup molds to machining fixtures.
